FREEFALL, 2025
abstract painting collection
freefall is a body of work born from the quiet tension between structure and freedom. it explores bold mark-making alongside transparent color gradients, balancing fluid gesture with intentional composition. organic forms drift across the canvas, at times recalling leaves, stones, or other natural elements—though never explicitly depicted. these shapes emerged through an intuitive process, revealing their connections to the natural world only in hindsight.
created during my return to the studio after a period of transition, freefall reflects on the uneasy beauty of letting go. using a combination of acrylic inks, paints, and oil on canvas, I worked with a palette grounded in deep greens and accented with earthy orange-reds. the tension within the materials—and within each composition—speaks to the idea that freedom can often be found by moving through, rather than away from, discomfort.
